Battle Hall Challenge- Epiloge

"So, uhm… Utack?" Emma asked. The two of them were sitting at a table in the Pokémon center, with Swampy snoozing by Utack's feet, the trio having enjoyed a large celebratory meal over Utack & Swampy's win at against the Battle Hall Matron, Argenta.

"Eh?" Utack asked, blinking and looking up, a fork dangling between his teeth.

"Well, I was just wondering… What did you mean back then?" Emma asked vaguely.

"…Back when now?" Utack asked, tilting his head to the side, the fork dropping from his mouth and clattering onto the plate, causing Swampy to stir slightly under the table.

"Back when you said 'Is that all?', when Argenta used Blast Burn… I mean, that's the ultimate fire attack, and you seemed completely unphased…" Emma murmured, pushing her index fingers together as she looked down.

"Oh, that…Hehehe, That wasn't so bad!" Utack grinned happily.

"What!?" Emma cried out in surprise, jerking her head up to look at Utack's boyish grinning face.

"Two of my buddies, Ryu and Richard, they sport powerful fire types… We've gotten into brawls in the past, and their fire attacks were much more fearsome than that." Utack explained, with a small agreeing grunt from Swampy.

"Wo-Wow…They must be really strong…" Emma smiled, a glint appearing in her eyes.

"Uhh, Uhh..Yeah! Yeah they are! But, they're totally not as strong as you! They're not even worth mentioning, they're completely out of your league!" Utack quickly piped up, shaking his hands side to side in a fluster.

"And I suppose you think you are?" Emma asked him, eying him coyly as she rested her chin on her palm, elbow on the table.

"Uhh-Uhh, That is, uhm, I mean..Aahh…" Utack stammered, his face growing redder than a fresh tomato berry.

Emma couldn't help but giggle. She glanced away for a moment, giving Utack a reprieve from her mischievous gaze, before speaking again.

"You know…I've got this family vacation coming up… It's actually not that far from here, about a week's journey across the island… I was planning on heading over to our Villa once I was done here… Want to come along?" She asked, turning her gaze back to Utack.

"Vi-Villa? You mean, like…" Utack stammered, trying to compose his thoughts.

"Mmhmm, over at the Resort Area. There's gonna be swimming, and barbeques, bonfires, and the annual Summer's Dance… My parents always make me attend it, and it's always such a bore… But I think it might be… Interesting, if you came along? What do you say?" Emma asked, smiling sweetly.

"Emma in a bathing suit, tons of food, dancing…" Utack's mind raced, as he quickly answered, "Of-Of course I'll come! It'll be a blast!" He grinned jumping up to his feet.

"Oh good! And I'll also be able to introduce you to my parents…" Emma added, rising and reaching down to pick up her purse.

"Yo-Your parents?" Utack stammered, his eyes growing wide.

"Ahaha! And of course, we can come along too, right!? 101, Glitch, Fang, and the rest of the gang!?" Swampy called, quickly pushing himself out from under the table to stand, grinning beside his partner.

"Oh yes… In fact, I recommend it… My father is pretty eager, so he'll want you to prove yourself against him in a Pokémon battle most likely… Well, if you boys are ready, then let's head out!" Emma called as she strolled past the two, smiling happily to herself.

"…Awh man, Swamp. What have I just gotten myself into?" Utack groaned, his shoulders slumping in defeat as his partner gave a hearty laugh.

"Ah, no worries! It's like you said before! We're in this together, we'll conquer this challenge! Plus, I think the rest of the gang is looking forward to a nice summer vacation! I know I am!" Swampy laughed, bounding forward after Emma. Utack sighed, laughed, and grinned, quickly running to catch up with them, the three setting off on their new journey.
